1. Who we are

2. What data do we process?
- Booking: name, email, phone, address, preferences (car, dates, number of people), comments.
- Contact/newsletter: email address and the content of your message/signup.
- Website use: technical data such as IP address and browser type may be processed by our hosting provider in server logs for security and debugging.
- Availability display: we query the Google Calendar API for free/booked periods. No personal data is sent; Google may see your IP address when the functionality loads.
- Payments: online payment data is not processed via this website (deposit/rental sum are handled according to the confirmation).
3. Purposes & legal grounds
- Performance of the agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): handling bookings and customer service.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): newsletter signup and optional marketing. You can always withdraw your consent.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): site security, abuse prevention, and displaying availability.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): tax retention obligations.
4. Who do we share data with?
We do not share your data with third parties unless necessary for the purposes mentioned above or when required by law. Examples of processors/recipients:
- Hosting provider (website and email).
- Google (Calendar API) for retrieving free/booked time blocks (without personal data).
- Government authorities when legally required.
5. Transfer outside the EU
Certain processors (such as Formspree and Google) may be based outside the EU. In that case, they ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses). Want more info? Feel free to get in touch.
6. Retention periods
- Booking data: up to 2 years after your last drive, unless legal periods require otherwise.
- Copy of driver's licence: standard 30 days after the vehicle is returned. In case of an incident, damage or outstanding claim, we keep the copy until the matter is resolved, with a maximum of 2 years.
- Invoice/admin data: 7 years (tax retention obligation).
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs: as short as possible, used only for security and debugging.
7. Cookies & similar techniques
We use functional components to make the site work (such as showing availability). For any analytics or marketing cookies, please see our Cookie statement. There you can manage your preferences.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and to object to processing. You can also withdraw your consent. Send your request to info@toereendfriesland.nl. We respond within 30 days.
9. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Think of encrypted connections (HTTPS), minimal data processing and access restriction.
10. Minors
Our services are aimed at adults. We do not request data from people under the age of 16 without parental/guardian consent.

We may update this privacy statement. The most recent version is always shown on this page. The date of last change is shown at the top.
